Copper Pipes – Aggressive Water Conditions
Issue
Corrosion of water pipes was observed and the water had a metallic taste

Action
The pH of the bore water was checked and found to be low (acidic). The corrosion was exacerbated by the bore water going through a water softener. Soft acidic water can cause corrosion.
Outcome
The water was buffered to reduce the aggressiveness of the water and corrosion of the copper pipes.
