Water Testing & Analysis
We can provide a range of water testing options depending on the needs of the customer. On-site tests can be reported immediately while detailed test results will be provided in an easy to understand format. Testing is important but we won’t recommend tests if you don’t need them.
Our aim is to develop long lasting relationships with our customers.
About Water Testing
The basis of Victorian Water Treatment Solutions is understanding the chemistry of a customer’s water.
To get the right solution to a problem you need to test the water but also understand what the customer wants to achieve and therefore a solution that fits them.
You need to the able to check what you drink or use before and after treatment.
The Importance of Testing
Do you test the water you drink or use?
This question is more aimed at those who use water other than that from a government authority. This is not to say that the water you are supplied is always of the best quality, but the reality is that you are more often going to have issues from other water sources.
Does your system allow you to test before and after you treat the water?
If the answer to this is No then your existing system is not right. How can you manage your water if you can’t check it? We are continually surprised about how many systems aren’t setup to sample the water both in or out. The treatment may feed water to a tank and then to the house, garden or business. Yes, you can check what is coming from the tank but this won’t tell you what is going in. The system is wrong.
It is your water, know what it is. It isn’t hard and often not expensive. If you aren’t sure then just contact us.

Testing
Depending on the customer’s needs work may begin with sampling the water and subjecting that water to relevant tests.
The following water testing services can be provided;
- On-site
- Bacteria, microorganisms etc
- Chemical Analysis
- Coagulation/Flocculation
On-site Testing
An on-site visit combines visual observations together with a series of tests including;
- pH
- Water Hardness
- Total Dissolved Salts
- Conductivity
- Iron
- Coagulation/Flocculation
Visual observations can include;
- Colour (of solution)
- Solid material on fittings
- Staining
- Sample turbidity
- Undissolved particles/suspended solids
- Odour
On-site testing and observations are important steps in understanding the environment.
Testing for Bacteria
Samples will be collected in a sterilised container for testing in a laboratory. Typically, these need to be tested within 24 hours and are ideally kept at a cool temperature. Bacteria testing is a very important test especially when people are showing symptoms associated with bacteria or E. coli being present in the water. Upon completion of the tests a report will be completed and sent detailing the outcome.
Chemical Testing
The sample of water will be tested in a laboratory covering the main areas associated with water sources. Typically, the tests will cover the following;
- Conductivity
- Langelier Saturation Index (LSI)
- pH
- Residual Alkali
- Silica
- Sodium Absorption Ratio
- Total Alkalinity
- Total Dissolved Salts (TDS)
- Total Hardness
Cations
- Aluminium
- Ammonia
- Ammonium
- Calcium
- Iron
- Magnesium
- Manganese
- Potassium
- Sodium
Anions
- Bicarbonate
- Carbonate
- Chloride
- Fluoride
- Nitrate
- Phosphate
- Sulphate
Trace Elements
- Antimony
- Arsenic
- Barium
- Beryllium
- Bismuth
- Boron
- Cadmium
- Chromium
- Cobalt
- Copper
- Lead
- Lithium
- Mercury
- Molybdenum
- Nickel
- Selenium
- Silver
- Strontium
- Thallium
- Tungsten
- Uranium
- Zinc
